To those who calls for communism, to those who calls for equality, to those who stands in the middle of uni taking up space.

I've just finished reading Phantom- the latest in the series Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind.
The series started off well, but lately it has become this mass of propaganda and frankly a little stuffy and every line screams 'democracy good, communism bad'.
The problem is, the Order- representing the oppression of the masses and the slaughter of all those who opposes them, is championing a rather good cause- equality of all. The one who thinks he is above another deserve to feel he below everyone.

The fact is that a majority of the world is below poverty line. A minority - about 10 percent? controls over 60% of the world's wealth.
So consider this.....everyone in university is considered loaded. There's not much difference between someone who can afford to fly to Milan every week and someone who's on HECs and working two jobs to afford classes.
This is in the view of someone who has absolutely nothing. Consider a child in any of the African countries, probably with AIDs, probably without parents, living on less than $1 per week, no clothes, no food, no shelter, going to school with four walls and mud floors.
Who in university can claim they cannot afford 'anything'. On average, most can afford a $5 dollar lunch. That's one month's living for a majority of the world. On average, most of us can afford breakfast, lunch and dinner, and christmas presents.
That goes for the working class, the middle class and the upper class.

We, make the minority in this world.
Are you willing to claim that you're willing to give all that YOU have so this world can be equal?
Are you willing to forgo breakfast, lunch and dinner and christmas presents so that you and someone else can be equal?
Calling for equality doesn't mean that the rest of the world rises in riches. It means YOU lose everything.
It means the minority that consists of all the rich people in this world goes down to accompany the poor people of this world.
So if you want to let go of everything for equality sake, I'll applaud you.
But for now I rejoice in being able to afford internet, sushi and hot chocolate.
