So I was invited to model for Kristyna (Kikahess) and Mark (StarburstImage) at this beautiful old movie set location about an 80 mins from Melbourne. Mark had arranged for a landscape photography weekend at Katteminnga which doubles as a getaway retreat and what seems to be a horse ranch (certainly the horses and young foals seemed happy frolicking about the grass). Me and Kiki drove off at around 11.30 and did eventually arrived to bright blue skies, completely surrounded by hills and trees and green grass. The set is BEYOND GORGEOUS. Very vintage western, rustic doors and falling roofs, dilapidated walls. There were a number of buildings sprawled across the grounds, including a prison, a saloon (and broken piano!), a church, stables, some open ended structures that just had room frames =D
It was so much fun. Haven't modeled for anyone else for awhile so I thought I was going to be terrible! But Kiki brought along some lovely clothes and she was a darling and easy to work with. I really can't wait to see the images. When we finally drove home I was so tired I fell alseep! And now my whole body hurts, haha.

Niflheim represents both light and darkness, of the celebration and distaste of life, of musings and incoherent thought. It is an outlet for personified angst and pessimism with chuckfuls of laughter and smiles.
It is Taka's way of drawing out all the little disturbing thoughts giving rise to nightmares, a way to self reflect, a way to seek solace.
